Why Choose Us?

We provide help to ATL artists in crisis.

With the rise of Covid-19, our Atlanta arts community is facing an existential threat. Whether they are theatre, visual arts, performing arts, film & TV or production professionals, many Atlanta artists are out of work for months, unable to earn an income and facing a devastating financial blow. We are here to help. No shame, no stigma. Just artists helping artists, in whatever way we possibly can. From connecting you with licensed therapists to walking you through the intricacies of applying for and receiving Unemployment Benefits, Atlanta Artist Relief Fund is dedicated to assisting our community in times of crisis and beyond.

Our Activity

What We Do

Our Goal is simple! We want to show the world what we already know to be true: Atlanta Based artists are the most community supported artists in the nation.

Healthy Food

When we started our journey, we were a food-centric relief organization. We’re changing how we approach things, but ensuring artists can eat will always be a priority

Mental Health

We’ve partnered with MWEL (Mental Wellness/Emotional Learning), a mental health collective dedicated to providing low-cost solutions to our community members.

Access to Resources

Providing access to critical benefit counseling to unemployed and struggling artists has been a cornerstone of our Atlanta Artist Relief Fund

Have A Question?

We are here to support Atlanta’s artistic community as we create a model for equitable, sustainable growth and make Atlanta artists the most community supported artists in the country. We started as a group of friends making dinners for out of work artists, and have evolved to serve artists in all areas of wellness.

We are volunteer, artist-led community support, advocacy and relief organization that helps artists however they need help.

Our core missions are twofold: to compassionately identify and meet the needs of the arts community with the empathetic understanding of fellow artists, and to advocate for the social change necessary for a humanistic, equitable arts community.

We serve adult artists in the Atlanta community. The nitty gritty of this is: In order to be eligible for support from AARF, you must:

– Be above the age of 18

– Be an artist, or contribute to the Atlanta arts community in a meaningful way.

– Reside or make art within Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry or Rockdale counties.

At AARF, we believe that every human is an artist. However, in order to be eligible for AARF’s service. This means makers, performers, students of artforms, volunteers and donors of arts institutions, arts administrators, and anyone else who makes the arts community in Atlanta so great.

Absolutely! To include AARF in your estate plans, please contact Bridget@atlartsrelief.org for more info about bequests, estate gifts, and other forms of legacy giving.

At this time, AARF is actively seeking 501(c)3 status, meaning your donations will be tax deductible very soon! General gifts made to AARF directly are not tax deductible. If you wish to make a gift that is tax deductible, you may email our Executive Director Bridget at Bridget@atlartsrelief.org for information about our fiscal sponsor.

We are committed to providing PPE for any AARF hosted event.

We also offer home made sewn masks for our volunteer delivery drivers that comply with Emory Hospital’s health standards. Make sure you hand wash and hang dry your mask daily. You can add a coffee filter in the lining for added protection, but do keep in mind that this is not a medical-grade mask, so you will still need to follow social distancing and hygiene rules to keep yourself and others safe.

We are actively working to source hand sanitizer and other PPE and will let volunteers know once available. We urge all of our drivers to wash their hands before and after each delivery to reduce contamination and their own risk of exposure.

Feel free to contact us anyway! If we can’t help, we can point you in the right direction.

Thank you for your interest in strengthening our community. We love new ideas! That’s what being an artist is all about. Maybe you have the whole thing planned out already, or maybe you see a need that isn’t being met but aren’t sure if or how we could help. Either way, feel free to shoot us an email at Admin@AtlArtsRelief.org

We love to hear awesome ideas! If you see a need in our community, or have an idea for the next incredible social initiative for Atlanta artists, please contact our Director of Programming, Jayson at Jayson@atlartsrelief.org

As a grassroots organization, our volunteers are the backbone of Atlanta Artist Relief Fund. We have volunteer opportunities in all areas of our organization such as marketing, finance, event planning, data entry, skilled labor, volunteer case workers, and more.

We also have a great need for event specific volunteers.
